I just saw "Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children". I must say, as a big fan of FF7, it was pretty sweet. Not without it's flaws, but a lot of fun. If you have never played FF7, you will be left behind at every turn in this movie. It may, in fact, be unwatchable in terms of story to you. It is assumed you know what happened during the game, and who the characters are when the film starts. If you HAVE played the game though, look forward to a much better looking romp through the FF7 world. The characters look not totally realistic. It's as if Square purposely left a bit of cartooniness to the designs so that the characters would look more like they did in the game, but I like the choice. The animation is truly breathtaking, particularly the environments. Likewise, the fights, while often absurdly ridiculous and physics defying, and spectacularly rendered. It's a definate buy on DVD for me. Hope some of the rest of you enjoy it too.
