We are moved into our new house... Ish... I rented a truck Friday JUST in time for it to start to pour rain all over the state. I'm talking sideways rain. Of course, I'd already paid for the truck, so after standing inside it for about 45 minutes and realizing that the rain was not letting up, I decided to move all our stuff anyway. It was not a fun day. All the heavy stuff did get moved in that day, but I got soaked and got a slight cold, and I hurt all over. To top off a bad day, while returning the rental truck, Third backed my car into a tree because our new house has no decent exterior lighting in the driveway. So now my car has a crunched in rear bumper and a shattered tail light that need fixing right when we're out of money because of buying the house. Blech. Saturday and Sunday we spent bringing over little stuff from the apartment and unpacking. As it stands now, we have brought over about 90% of our stuff and unpacked maybe 30% of it. My new drawing room is awesome, but it's not set up at all, so it's a pain to work in at the moment. Now we have to find out how much it will cost us to break the lease on our old place. Right now it looks like $700 to $1,500, which is at least better than the $2,100 it would cost us to actually finish it out. Moving is too damn expensive, and I hope not to have to move again for at least five years. As of Tuesday I'm going to try to get back to my regular drawing schedule and use evenings to get the rest of my stuff over here. With any luck, things should be getting back to normal for the first time in two years very soon.
