It’s a big milestone for me. Three full years since finally having the guts to admit to myself that I was trans and begin taking HRT.
Despite all the setbacks, all the hate, lost friends, and laws designed to erase me, I still count it among the best things I ever did for myself. It’s made me finally able to appreciate the things in my life I always believed should have made me happy. In short, my brain works.
This is me now. Things get tough, but I’m happy. The lows hurt, but I finally appreciate the highs. I am a better, happier, fuller version of myself and I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way.
I’m taking a long weekend. It’s basically like a second birthday for me, an anniversary, or “tranniversary”, as it were. I wish you all the self-acceptance I’ve managed to build over these last few years and hope each of you is able to cross whatever Rubicon has been keeping you from your own best life.
Best Wishes,
Haley Christopher Hazelton
