Ok, I'm starting to get almost weekly suggestions of “why don't you offer bonus art in return for donations like other comics”? Let me explain why I don't do this. Misfile was for a long time a 3 days a week comic. When I switched to 5 days a week, it was on the condition that I made enough in donations not to have to get a full time job, leaving me enough time to DO those extra pages. Extra 2 pages a month equals EIGHT pieces of bonus art a month. When I create art, I want people to see it. Not just a few people, but everyone. On those few times I actually have the time to do true “bonus art”, I put it up for everyone, and I feel that that is how it should be. I don't force anyone to donate, and I don't want to “sell” my art online. I draw for everyone, and I do it for free. If you want do donate, I appreciate it. I appreciate it a LOT. It's the only reason I can continue to give five updates a week to ALL the readers, but quite frankly AFTER those extra pages AND the work I do on “Building 12” I don't have the time or creative energy to do YET another piece of artwork in full color to “sell” for donations. I'm practically burnt out creatively at the end of the week as it is. If it's something people REALLY NEED me to do, the bonus art would likely come at the expense of an actual page, not in addition to it. In short, every time someone asks me to do a “bonus” art gift to give out for donations, though you may not know it, you are REALLY asking me to do one less page for you and replace it with a pinup that has nothing to do with the story, which you would likely eventually get anyway for free in the gallery if I was to do it of my own accord. Please don't think I'm being ungrateful, or un appreciative. I greatly appreciate all the donations I've been given. It's just I get this “suggestion” about once every week or two and I'm tired of having to explain each time why I'm not going to do that separately. Thank you everyone most humbly for the donations I receive, and thank you for bearing with my explanation of why things are the way they are. Many thanks to everyone who donated to Misfile in January. For those who've requested that I put the amount donated so far in here as well as the nifty flash donation bar below. I've received $175 out of the $1000 goal for February. Remember, it's your donations that keeps Misfile updating 5 times a week rather than 3. If that's not enough return on your investment, you can always request a commission: The MISFILE Commissions Studio :-) Don't forget to VOTE FOR MISFILE ON BUZZ COMIX MISFILE GRAPHIC NOVEL 2 IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SALE!!!
